I fell in love with Quinn Loftis’s writing back in 2012 when I first encountered, Prince of Wolves. Her knack for crafting dynamic characters—some we love and some we love to hate—along with engaging worlds, and addictive witty banter, has continued to impress me.
Kingdom of Venom, the third book in Loftis’s Kingdom Shifter series, is a contemporary paranormal shifter romance that was released in June 2024. This book centers on the enigmatic Viper King, Azure, and delves into the Kingdom of Venom. While snakes aren’t usually my favorite creatures, Loftis’s captivating world-building and ongoing plot conflict from the previous books kept me thoroughly engaged.
One of the standout aspects of Loftis’s writing is her diverse array of shifter species. In a genre often dominated by wolf shifters, her inclusion of different species brings a refreshing change. For those who are fans of wolf shifters, don’t miss her Grey Wolves series!
As an Advanced Reader Copy(ARC) reader, I had the chance to delve into this book before its official release in exchange for an honest review. Loftis excels in creating a strong sense of familial bonds among her characters, something many readers, regardless of age, can relate to. She also tackles series themes like Vitiligo with sensitivity and depth, adding layers to her characters and their journeys.
Kingdom of Venom kept me on the edge of my seat with its twists and turns. While I would have liked a deeper exploration of some plot aspects, the book’s action-packed narrative and meaningful themes make it a compelling read. I highly recommend all of Quinn Loftis’s books, especially if you enjoy clean paranormal romance! I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment in this series! My favorite character, who came onto the scene in book two, Kingdom of Fangs, is Otto. His tag line is, “I bite you.” And if I’m being honest, we all need an Otto in our lives!
